Grayslake Area Public Library strives to meet the educational needs of our community. It is our hope that by providing the following programs, services, and resources we will continue to support all forms of education and raise a community of readers.
Services
Loan Requests
Are you studying a particular subject that you could use some additional resources? With seven days of advance notice, we will gather books, easy readers, DVDs, etc. that will enhance your particular area of study. These items may be checked out with a valid library card. Please complete the Teacher’s/Homeschooler’s Loan Request form to take advantage of this service. Your materials will be available at the Front Desk.
Book-A-Visit
We would be happy to host your class for a library tour, book talk, or anything you may have in mind. Alternatively, our Outreach staff is available to visit your classroom, troop or other youth-oriented organization. Please fill out the Book-A-Visit Form and we will notify you when the visit is confirmed.
Resources
Educate Station
Offers a full curriculum for Pre-K – 5th Grade, presented in a recommended learning sequence of printable packets. The primary subjects are English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Social-Emotional Learning. Leave the planning to Educate Station with our Weekly and Monthly Learning Plans!
Teachables
An online database of thousands of searchable and printable, ready-to-use educational materials for educators and parents. Resources include worksheets, lesson plans, games and puzzles, skill sheets, and more for all grades K-8. Only Grayslake Library cardholders can access.
Kuzko History
Kuzko History is a history education e-resource designed for elementary-age students. It combines videos, questions, and projects into ready-made lesson plans for schools and families to learn history in a fun, simple, and engaging way.
PebbleGo
An online encyclopedia for preK–2 students with kid-friendly articles including animals, biographies, health, science, and social studies. It includes read-aloud audio, text highlighting, and activities to support young learners.
PebbleGo Next
An online database for grades 3–5 with curriculum-aligned articles on topics like Indigenous Peoples’ History, U.S. States, Science, Social Studies, and Biographies. It offers read-aloud audio, text highlighting, videos, games, and interactive activities to support digital literacy, deeper learning, and engagement.
