1. What is your favorite book/author, and why?
Hmm…I’m old enough where it’s difficult to choose an all-time “favorite,” but two that come to immediate mind many years after reading them are “Seabiscuit” by Lauren Hillenbrand (historical nonfiction that reads like an edge-of-your-seat fictional sports narrative) and “Ireland” by Frank Delaney – a novel that offers striking insights into the Emerald Isle’s rich history but, more than anything, is an ode to the magnificent tradition of storytelling.
2. How long have you been a member of our community? What's your favorite thing to do in the Grayslake Area?My wife and I have lived in Grayslake for 20 years; it’s been a great place to raise our kids. I particularly enjoy attending village-wide events, such as the Community Fireworks and SummerFest, and getting together with friends for dinner/drinks downtown.
3. What's your educational background?
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa.
4. Who is in your family?
My wife, Becky; daughters, Emma and Riley; and our fabulous Mini-Goldendoodle, Winnie.
5. Fun fact?
I tend to be more of a quiet person, but I’m a HUGE music fan who will talk endlessly about different musical genres, artists, bands, obscure music-related trivia, music history, and the like.
