Manage Your Account

Access your account online to update your notification settings, check due dates, browse our collection, place holds, and more!

  1. Select My Account.
  2. Enter your library card number and password (by default, this is the last four digits of your phone number). Click Log In.
    • If you have trouble accessing your account, give us a call at 847-223-5313! We can provide your library card number and/or reset your password.
  3. Once you are logged in, manage your account by selecting the following options.

View your library card expiration date, messages from the library, and update your contact information and preferences. You can also opt to Maintain Reading History (under Contact Information and Preferences) to save the titles of all the items you check out – to protect your privacy, only you will have access to view this information.

View all items currently checked out on your account and their due dates. Eligible items automatically renew when they are due, unless they have been requested by another patron.

View and manage all requested items on your account, their status, and their pickup library location. When an item is “ready for pickup,” we will notify you via email, phone, or text and we’ll hold it at our Front Desk for 7 days. After 7 days, holds will be canceled and placed back on the shelf for other patrons, or moved on to the next patron on the hold list.

Most items in our collection are fine-free, with the exception of many library of things collection items. We’ll also gladly waive any replacement fees for a lost item when the item is returned within a year and in good condition. 

If an item is overdue for over 45 days, it is considered a lost item, and you will receive a bill for the replacement cost. You may also receive a bill for the replacement cost of a damaged item.

View and pay any outstanding fees on your account. Lost item refunds may be granted if the item is returned in good condition and within 90 days of the original payment date.
