What can I make?
EPILOG MINI LASER CUTTER & ENGRAVER
This laser cutter is able to cut (vector) and engrave (raster) on a variety of approved materials, including solid woods, cork, cardboard, and certain acrylics and glass with high precision and speed. Etched glass designs, signs, wood engravings, and coasters are just a few of the items that can be made. The versatility of the Epilog Mini enables makers, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs to create diverse products.
Designs with images, shapes, and/or text can be created in a graphics software program such as Inkscape (free and open-source), Adobe Illustrator, or CorelDRAW and saved to a thumb drive or imported from a file.
The laser cutter is free to use. You may bring in your own materials (subject to approval by a library staff member) or a variety of materials may be purchased in The Hub at the time of use.
You will need to complete a certification appointment on the Epilog Laser Cutter prior to independent use.
SILHOUETTE CAMEO 4 ELECTRONIC CUTTER
The Cameo 4 has the ability to cut vinyl stickers, iron-on heat transfers, cardstock, chipboard, stencils, fabric, and more. It has a 12” x 12” and 12” x 24” cutting mat and can draw designs with a pen along with its cutting capabilities.
The Cameo 4 connects to a computer, allowing freedom to download designs from the internet or create one’s own designs with the included Silhouette software or other scalable vector graphics (SVG) software such as Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, or CorelDRAW.
The Cameo 4 is free to use. You may bring in your own materials or a variety of materials may be purchased in The Hub at the time of use.
You will need to complete a certification appointment on the Silhouette Cameo prior to independent use.
