Scholastic BookFlix is an online literacy resource for children in PreK-3 that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning.

CultureGrams
Search U.S. and World information for population and information on world cultures.

Ebsco Host
Search a master database for articles and news. An electronic journals service available to through the library. It aggregates access to electronic journals from various publishers. Please have your library card number ready to enter.

FirstSearch
Search a variety of databases through OCLC databases including libraries throughout the country.
Gail Virtual Reference Library
Search 180 reference books in 16 subjects from Art to Social Science individually or simultaneously.

Grolier Online
Includes seven encyclopedia databases: Encyclopedia America, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, The New Book of Knowledge, La Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre, America the Beautiful, Lands and Peoples, and The New Book of Popular Science.

HeritageQuest
Find genealogical information here. Search in census images, books, articles, Revolutionary War records, and the Freedman's Bank from this site. (In the library we have the Ancestry Library database for you use too.)

Historical Newspapers
Search Chicago Tribune and New York Times for full text articles from the 1850s. There are also special sections of timelines and obituaries of famous people.

LearningExpressLibrary
Provides a completely interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons prepare for academic tests, real estate exam, ems tests, firefighter exam and much more. To begin click on "New User" or "Returning User". Then enter a user name (your library card number) and create a password (your choice).

Literary Reference Center includes plot summaries, synopses, articles of literary criticism, author biographies, full text from over 300 literary journals, book reviews, poems, short stories, author interviews, and images of key literary figures.

MyMediaMall
Check out and download eAudiobooks, eBooks, and eVideos any time of the day or night from the comfort of your home. MyMediaMall, powered by Overdrive, allows users to download to a personal computer, as well as enjoy digital content on a wide array of devices including MP3 players, CDs, Smartphones, and PDAs.

NetLibrary
You can now download eAudiobooks to your home computer or MP3 player. You will need an MP3 player that supports protected WMA files. If you have trouble with the initial set-up please come into the library to register and get additional information. 
NewsBank
Search the online editions of the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Grayslake Review, and the Chicago Sun-Times newspapers. Includes full-text articles. Availability varies.
NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists.
