Friends of the Library VHS Sale
Friday, September 12

Thanks to a generous donation of VHS tapes by Dog Ear Music and Movies in Libertyville, the Friends of the Library will be holding a special VHS sale in the library’s lobby. The sale starts Friday, September 12 and continues until the videos are gone. Drop by and pick up some great movies for those chilly autumn evenings.

The Friends of the Library is an organization of volunteers whose goal is to support the library. Membership is open to anyone.  The friends of the library are always looking for new members.  They always are looking for new ideas and viewpoints.  Volunteers are the backbone of the organization.  The Friends hold business meetings in September, January, March and April and hold their annual social meeting in October.  Their primary projects are the used book sale and memorial brick sale.

General Meetings are open to anyone interested in helping the Friends support the library.  Business meetings are held in the library's meeting room. Call Roberta Thomas at the library (847-223-5313) for details.

In addition to our regular book sales, the Friends of the Library sells books continuously in the library's lobby.  All books sold are donations from people in the area.  Book donations can be dropped off at the friends storage room chute.  If a receipt is needed, the staff at the circulation desk will happily accept and record your donations.   Volunteers are always needed; if you can help please call 847-223-5313.  Major book sales are held in November and March and a special lobby sale in June.

  • One cannot stress more the need for members to this organization.  "I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness, about the underpinnings of our culture, and our concern for the future can all be tested by how well we support our libraries." (Carl Sagan)
